What are cookies?

On the Site it is used in slideshow on the main page in order to determine and show specific pictures on the basis of user’s location.

language

Session cookie, functionality type. Keeps user’s language, which identifies according to HTTP AcceptLangage (language, set up by the browser’s settings) or according to language selection made by user manually in the Site’s menu.

This cookie is used in order to identify the user’s language.

order

Session cookie, functionality type. Keeps specific order of slides in a slideshow.

It is used in order to keep the order of slides: a user can continue watching pictures from that one he stopped.

Session cookies

Session cookies are temporary cookies that remain on your device until you leave the vigu.guide site.

_vigu_session

Session cookie, necessary type. This is a session identifier, service parameter.

__session:#hash_number (18 digits)

Session cookie, functionality type. It is a session identifier, which is created at the client’s side.

It is used as a namespace for two more parameters (below) of the session. It is generated automatically.

__session:#{hash_number}:slideshow_finished

Session cookie, functionality type. It is a flag, which shows if a user finished to watch the slideshow.

It is used in order to identify if we should continue to show the the slideshow or to stop on the current slide.

__session:#{hash_number}:current_slide

Session cookie, functionality type. This cookie is a number of a current slide in a slideshow.

It is used in order to continue the slideshow with a correct slide (in cases when the page is reloaded).

Third party cookies

There are 4 cookies of the third party on the Site, all of them are generated by Google Analytics.

__utma

Persistent cookie. It is remaining on your device during 2 years since it was installed or updated.

Used to distinguish users and sessions. The cookie is created when the javascript library executes and no existing __utma cookies exists. The cookie is updated every time data is sent to Google Analytics.

__utmb

Persistent cookie. It is remaining on your device during 30 minutes since it was installed or updated.

Used to determine new sessions/visits. The cookie is created when the javascript library executes and no existing __utmb cookies exists. The cookie is updated every time data is sent to Google Analytics.

__utmc

Session cookie. It is remaining until you close the browser.

Not used in Google Analytics. Set for interoperability with urchin.js (currently deprecated Google software for site analysis). Historically, this cookie operated in conjunction with the __utmb cookie to determine whether the user was in a new session/visit.

__utmz

Persistent cookie. It is is remaining on your device during 6 months since it was installed or updated.

Stores the traffic source or campaign that explains how the user reached your site. The cookie is created when the javascript library executes and is updated every time data is sent to Google Analytics.

What if I do not want to remain the cookies?
